From the very beginning, the goal of Misfit Beauty Club has been to help each person who walks through our doors to feel more authentically themselves. Each of our artists is deeply passionate about their work, and we can’t wait to share that with you!

Misfit Beauty Club is not your average beauty space.
We are a queer owned salon in the beautiful Old Southwest neighborhood of Roanoke.
MBC was created specifically with folks in mind who don’t feel they fit into a normal beauty space, because that’s how our artists feel too! We are weird, queer, neurodivergent, and fully embracing the magic of not following the well-trodden path of the beauty industry. We know a lot of our clients share this same sentiment! Normal salons feel too gendered, too loud or too “normal?” You’re in the right place and we’re so excited to have you! Conforming to societal standards of beauty and professionalism isn’t our jam. We hope that by showing up as our true selves, that you feel empowered to do the same.

(They/Them) A Blacksburg native turned Roanoke transplant, Michaela brings a love for vivid color, creative cuts, and community to Misfit Beauty Club. Inspired by their own journey of embracing the “weird and wonderful,” they specialize in bold, expressive styles and creating an inclusive, affirming salon experience for all.

NAIL ARTIST
(They/She) Born and raised in Roanoke, Billie blends their service-industry roots with a creative spark for nail artistry. After transitioning from the natural foods world to cosmetology, they’ve found their groove in gel manicures and sculpted designs. Passionate about music, art, and connection, Billie loves making every appointment a creative and meaningful experience.

An Asheville transplant and nature-loving artist, Nova approaches hairstyling as both craft and ritual. Their mindful, low-tox approach focuses on natural texture, intuitive cutting, and energy-centered care. With a background in precision and free-form techniques, Nova creates grounded, one-of-a-kind styles that reflect each client’s natural beauty and inner calm.
