Michaela Perdue

Owner, VIVID COLOR & CREATIVE CUTS Specialist

They/Them

I am a Blacksburg native turned Roanoke transplant as of January 2024. Growing up here, weird and queer, I felt out of place in traditional salons, and got wacky bad haircut after wacky bad haircut. I think all of those experiences (and so many more!) sparked my joy in creating fun, weird, not-your-average hair. I've trained exclusively in vivid colors and creative cutting techniques in recent years.

It's my mission to make Misfit Beauty Club a community space that extends beyond the hair. When I’m not here, catch me obsessing over and/or performing drag, hanging with my dogs and wonderful partner Alex, being a foodie (Can food be a love language?) and generally soaking up all the wonderful community that Roanoke has to offer!

They/She

Howdy! I am a Roanoke-raised native, from a rich service industry background. I grew up in a family restaurant here in town, and have always had a knack for creating unique and positive customer experiences. I struggled for many years, feeling like my career path in the natural foods industry was lacking self-expression and creativity. After experiencing some good old-fashioned burnout, I took the leap as an adult and enrolled in a Nail Technician program taught by Fusions School of Cosmetology. I had been giving myself and my friends self-taught gel manicures, as well as gel-x; I was fortunate enough to broaden my knowledge and experience HUGELY during my time in the program.

These days, I love practicing all forms of gel manicures. Hard gel, soft gel, gel extensions, and, of course, sculpting gel. I still have lots to learn as a baby nail tech, and I’m fortunate enough to have Misfit Beauty Club as my outlet to create, explore, and expand my art!

Outside of the salon, I love live music. Loud, heavy music gives my brain a chance to rest and release my stresses from the day. I live out in the woods in a little cottage with my two dogs, who are quirky and silly menaces. I love tattoos and visual art of almost all types, and listen to so many podcasts about interpersonal relationships/communication that I could probably talk about it with you for hours. I’d love to find you in my chair sometime for a meaningful conversation and a snazzy set of nails!

Nova Seder

Holistic Haircutting Specialist

Hello there!  I’m a transplant from Asheville NC and a proud cat Mom. As an earth-loving, neuro-spicy artist, I’m passionate about helping you tap into a natural state of calm and flow, both in your life and your self-care practice. I believe healthy hair truly starts from within and thrives in harmony with nature.

My approach is all about mindfulness, focusing on details, creative shapes, and low-maintenance cuts that celebrate your unique features.  I work with your natural texture to shape and frame your face, cutting the style into the hair so you can drop the heat tools and live your best life.

I infuse nourishing rituals and energy healing into my flow, like crystal palms stones, oracle cards, essential oils and personalized scalp treatments, all tailored to your unique needs. My background in both precision and free-form haircutting gives me a unique approach. I think of hair as a garment – a unique expression of your inner self.  I'm all about creating a safe space for you to explore your hair's full potential, using organic and low-toxin products while always considering your overall well-being, and having a good time!

When not in the salon you can find me barefoot outside, talking to trees, making art, meeting cool folks, chillin with my cats. I’d love to get to know you and your hair!
